Plan in Order to Reflect

Reflection is a powerful thing. It has the potential to move our personal and professional learning forward.

Just as important, though is the planning that goes into making change happen. Deliberate and focused planning makes for an active process. Reflection is more of a passive process. Until it comes time to act on the learning that resulted from your reflective practice.

Action focused planning is all about visioning a desired state. Then taking deliberate and well thought out steps to move from your current state to that desired state.

My good friend @monicaannebatac is the living embodiment of just that. Approaching change from a critical stance, running all options through a gap analysis, creating a theory of action then turning a vision into a movement for change.

Making resolutions can be a fun thing, to be sure. If you really want to make something happen, plan for it and expect excellence.
